The Supreme Court of Florida granted Governor Ron DeSantis’s petition to impanel a statewide grand jury to investigate crimes committed in Florida related to COVID-19 vaccines and the response to the pandemic.

DeSantis cited a series of statements and policies made by government agencies, medical associations and vaccine companies that were claimed to be true and supported by medical evidence, but later found to be incorrect or lacking scientific justification at the time they were asserted, including claims that the vaccine prevents transmission of COVID, only the unvaccinated would contract COVID, that the benefits of the vaccine for children and young adults outweigh the risks, that the vaccine was 94% and even 100% effective, and that universal use of the vaccine would end the pandemic.

People’s Pharma Movement (PPM) applauds Gov. DeSantis’ action, and we believe other states should begin similar grand jury investigations. Please use the panel to the right send a message to the Governor of your state asking for a grand jury investigation in your state. The more investigations underway, the more likely the truth will be revealed, and justice is done.

While States have impaneled grand juries to investigate pharmaceutical company crimes related to opioids and other drugs, legal experts are unaware of any prior grand jury investigations in the US into vaccine-related crimes.  Vaccine companies are protected from any legal liability from injuries caused by their products, but criminal activity, fraud, and misleading statements opens them up to discovery, subpoenas, and prosecution.

Questions have been raised regarding the veracity of the statements made by the pharmaceutical manufacturers of COVID-19 vaccines, particularly with respect to transmission, prevention, efficacy, and safety. All states prohibit fraudulent practices, including the dissemination of false or misleading advertisements for drugs and the use of any representation or suggestion in any advertisement relating to a drug that an application of a drug is effective when it is not.

Florida’s petition to the Court makes it clear that DeSantis believes crimes were committed, and that they were mostly likely committed for financial gain. “It is impossible to imagine that so many influential individuals came to this view on their own. Rather, it is likely that individuals and companies with an incentive to do so created these perceptions for financial gain.” The pharmaceutical industry has a notorious history of misleading the public for financial gain. US drug companies have paid more than $50 billion in fines, penalties, and settlement since 2000.
