Madeline Brame and BLEXIT NY Targeted By NYC Liberal Politicians – but not by any Black Politicians
by Michael Kane

BLEXIT NY planned an event in NYC for June 17.
But once NYC liberal politicians found out about it, they used their public office to put massive pressure on venues to cancel and silence this prominent organization run by Black conservatives (founded by Candice Owens). But the shocking reality was not a single NYC politician looking to muzzle BLEXIT was Black!
Not one!
NY lawmakers who tried to cancel and shut up the Black non-profit were State Senators Mike Gianaris (White) and Kristen Gonzalez (Hispanic / White), as well as Councilwoman Julie Won (Asian), Councilwoman Tiffany Caban (Hispanic) Assemblywoman Jessica Gonzalez Rojas (Hispanic) and Assemblyman Zohran Kwame Mamdani (says he was “born in Uganda” but clearly not Black).
Kristen Gonzalez seemed to be the ringleader of this group, releasing a statement on Twitter where she referred to BLEXIT in quotes (it’s unclear what the quotes infer):
State Senator Kristen Gonzalez claims to be a “socialist” but worked as a product manager for American Express prior to being elected, and tried to scrub that information off the net while she ran for office.
Assemblywoman Jessica Gonzalez Rojas was one of the 16 Albany Democrats who voted to allow minors to be vaccinated without parental knowledge or consent on May 16 of this year.
State Senator Mike Gianaris voted to repeal the religious exemption to vaccination for all children in New York on June 13, 2019.
BLEXIT was founded by Candice Owens who has been extremely outspoken about the dangers of the HPV vaccine as well as stating publicly she does not vaccinate her children.
BLEXIT NY is headed by Madeline Brame who responded to Senator Gianaris’ tweet trying to cancel her organization’s right to assemble and speak with the following:
“Are you aware that most of these people are black from all over the country. You people are being racist against blacks who have a different point of view and cannot be controlled (by) the slave master. We will not be silenced nor will we be cancelled.”

I spoke to Bronx native Dion Powell, who is the BLEXIT NY Assistant State Director.
“I was disgusted yet so touched at the same time,” said Powell. “There have been so many people who don’t even know BLEXIT but stuck up for us hard on social media. Once they realized BLEXIT is a Black conservative non-Democratic-controlled organization, they realized we are 100% authentic and credible. I don’t think the politicians who attacked us planned for that.”
This support can be seen clearly in over 1,000 comments on an Instagram post from the Brooklyn-based venue that cancelled last-minute on BLEXIT. The organization was able to secure another venue in Long Island City to host their event that did not cave to pressure from racist NYC liberal politicians.
Dion Powell, who is also the Bronx Democratic County Committeeman of the 79th Assembly District, put out the following tweet (which is where I got the image used at the top of this post)
To be clear, TEACHERS FOR CHOICE does not identify as a conservative nor liberal organization, as our mission is dedicated exclusively to medical freedom. TFC does not support every position BLEXIT holds, nor those of their partner Turning Point USA. However we appreciate the perspectives and intelligence that they bring to important conversations and issues. We have often collaborated with BLEXIT NY at parades, at rallies, at City Hall and at the Capitol in Albany, and we will continue to do so every time our positions and goals align.
