Bill A279 which would create an Adult Vaccine Database passed out of the Assembly Health Committee today by the very slim vote of 14 to 12. That’s the bad news.
Good news is the bill got sent to the Codes Committee. John Gilmore, who has been lobbying Albany since I was in high school, told me Codes is where “bills are sent to die.”
The NO votes included all Republicans plus 5 Democrats — BARON, SAYEGH, ABINANTI, SOLAGES, and BICHOTTE. All other Democrats voted YES.
The large amount of emails and phone calls that went out to Albany Reps over the past few days definitely had an impact. Thank you to everyone who called and emailed all these reps!
We do not know what will happen with this bill. Maybe it will “die” in Codes. Maybe it will make it to the floor before the end of the session. Albany’s legislative session ends this year on June 10th. If we make it till the 10th without this bill passing, it dies and won’t be picked up again until January of 2022.

I am very worried that NYC is going to mandate the COVID vaccine for the kids at school in the further. I feel like I need to do more to stop this. Is there any organization working solely on this? I do not know of a parent group focused solely on this issue, vut TEACHERS FOR CHOICE will fight with you to protect students and parental rights.
