As NYC is trying to ban unvaccinated teachers from their jobs, unvaccinated parents of NYC public school students have been banned from all Department of Education buildings as well. Below is a letter from one such parent sent to Chancellor Meisha Porter regarding the discrimination this parent now faces being banned from their child’s school building.
Parents need to RISE UP!
This is a disgusting precedent and remember, if they can ban one group of parents from the school they can ban another group. My dear friend and ally Adriana Aviles who is herself vaccinated recognizes this and stands with unvaccinated parents!

Dear Chancellor Porter,
As the parent of two NYC Public School children, I am writing to demand that you reverse the discriminatory School Visitor Policy, implemented September 13, 2021, barring all unvaccinated parents from entering their children’s school buildings.
Since it is now an established scientific fact that the Delta variant spreads in the vaccinated (https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/mm7034e4.htm?s_cid=mm7034e4_w) and as natural immunity from previous infection gains recognition https://www.news-medical.net/news/20210830/Does-SARS-CoV-2-natural-infection-immunity-better-protect-against-the-Delta-variant-than-vaccination.aspx, this policy can have no basis in public safety. Instead, it is a blatant act of coercion with inequitable outcomes, evidenced by the latest NYC vaccination statistics that show Black parents would be disproportionately barred from entering their children’s schools, with over 57% of Black parents currently unvaccinated for Covid. As I am sure you are aware, court judges are increasingly ruling against such discriminatory policies. It is particularly significant that the New York State mask mandate for the unvaccinated was struck down in Federal Court as unconstitutional on August 27, 2021. More specifically related to NYC, in light of Judge Love’s issuance of a Temporary Restraining Order on September 14, 2021, temporarily blocking the vaccine mandate for DOE workers, the same suspension should justly apply to parents. https://nypost.com/2021/09/14/nyc-court-temporarily-blocks-city-halls-doe-vaccine-mandate/
Separately, and far more importantly, I am also writing to demand that the DOE immediately cease and desist from promoting and requiring vaccinations for children 12 years old and older, in order to participate in “high risk” activities. As more studies become available, the risk that current Covid vaccines pose to young males in particular, is very real. Multiple studies now suggest that myocarditis caused by Covid vaccines are a far greater threat to young males’ health than a Covid infection. I shudder at what our society has become to close their eyes and blindly uphold policies that harm our children. It is time for all of us to STAND UP and do what is right. It is unconscionable that anyone would be complicit in demanding that children be subjected to these health risks, under the guise of public health.

Teachers For Choice 
I totally agree with this parent’s comments about rescinding the rule of barring unvaccinated parents into the building to interact with their own children!
I also would agree that madates like this are destructive to the education of our children as well as teachers and independent providers who are being censored and barred from their own profession! Shame on the mayor and the city health agencies for using a waning pandemic to threaten the families and tge teachers whi choice to not be vaccinated using an unsafe, untested experimental “vaccine”!
