Multi-Cultural Plaintiffs Sue de Blasio over Vaccine Mandate

TEACHERS FOR CHOICE Press Release

9-28-21

Black, Brown, Hispanic, White, Asian, female, male and immigrant plaintiffs are suing Mayor de Blasio in federal court over his forced vaccination mandate for NYC DOE employees in the case KANE vs DE BLASIO. The 10 plaintiffs include Michael Kane, William Castro, Margaret Chu, Heather Clark, Stephanie Di Capua, Robert Gladding, Nwakaego Nwaifejokwu, Ingrid Romero, Trinidad Smith, and Amaryllis Ruiz-Toro.

This is the third lawsuit filed against de Blasio’s vaccine mandate for NYC educators with a major focus on the city’s fraudulent exemption process.

Plaintiffs come from all range of ethnic, racial and religious backgrounds including Chinese, Nigerian, Columbian, Ecuadorian, Italian, Christian, Jewish and more. Despite these diverse and varied background’s all plaintiff’s share one thing in common; they firmly believe their rights to a religious and/or medical exemption to vaccination have been trampled on by a fraudulent NYC DOE process. The plaintiffs’ attorney Sujata Gibson has already filed KANE vs DE BLASIO in federal court and plans to file a temporary restraining order (TRO) this week. This comes just as a class action lawsuit filed by NYC teacher Rachel Maniscalco and over 700 NYC DOE employees against the vaccine mandate had its TRO dissolved on September 27th by the 2nd District Court of Appeals.

  1. I believe that all teachers should have a choice. Each person should be making their own health care decisions for themselves not the government. Additionally people should not be threatened and bullied about their jobs and paychecks being taken away from them over a vaccine.

  2. No one should be forced to get something injected into their bodies in order to keep their jobs. If the vaccine works then it shouldn’t matter who chooses not to receive it.

  3. My religious exemption was denied. My appeal zoom meeting was a joke! And denied as well! Who is anyone to think they have the right to judge what religion means to you? Our first amendment literally protects us just from that! So because Deblasio is mayor, he’s above the law??? What he’s mandating is criminal!
